Mr. Hu Xibao, the president of the Chinese Waterproofing Association, stated in his speech that the waterproofing industry is currently in a deep transformation period with the rise of the existing market and the shrinkage of the incremental market. According to National Bureau of Statistics data, from January to July this year, the new construction area of houses across the country was 267 million square meters, a decrease of 24%, and the main business income of large-scale waterproofing building materials enterprises was 38 billion yuan, a decrease of 5.4%. Home renovation, urban renewal, and the transformation of old residential areas are becoming new growth engines; however, problems such as excess low-end capacity, homogenization and low-price competition, and chaotic standard implementation are still prominent.
