Import Art Paint Industry Update: 2026 New National Standard Implementation New National Standard GB 30981 Series for Paints Implemented in 2026
With the official implementation of the new national standard for paints, GB 30981 series on June 1, 2026, the import art paint industry is experiencing a new round of quality upgrade.
Recently, according to the official WeChat account of Breno import art paint, Breno import art paint's "Import CCC Certification Certificate" for the 2026 new national standard was officially launched on September 9, 2026, becoming one of the import art paint brands that have completed the 2026 new national standard CCC certification.
The GB 30981.1-2025 "Limit of Harmful Substances in Paints - Part 1: Architectural Coatings" that has been highly anticipated by the industry was officially implemented on June 1, 2026, replacing the previous GB 18582-2020 standard. The new standard has significant upgrades in VOC limits, control range of harmful substances, and for the first time introduces SVOC (semi-volatile organic compounds) limits, and expands the control of substances such as biocides.
According to the announcement released by the National Market监督管理 Bureau earlier, as of July 1, 2025, water-based interior wall coatings (including art paints) have been officially included in the CCC certification management scope. Products without certification are not allowed to be produced, sold, or imported, which means that import art paints must not only meet the environmental protection standards of the original country but also pass the "quality threshold" of the Chinese mandatory product certification.
With the full implementation of the 2026 new national standard and the deepening of the CCC certification system, the import art paint industry is stepping into a more standardized development stage. For consumers, recognizing the CCC certification mark will become an important reference for choosing import paint products.
