Classic Ergonomic Chairs: Continuous Innovation for Diverse Work and Living Spaces Classic Ergonomic Chairs: Continuous Innovation for Diverse Work and Living Spaces
Classic ergonomic chairs have been continuously iterating and innovating, adapting to various work and living scenarios.
Since its launch in 1994, the Aeron chair under the Herman Miller brand has led the way in ergonomic chairs. This classic design by Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick has maintained its industry benchmark status through continuous iterations in color, materials, and performance. The core of this evolution is the brand's deep research and long-term commitment to sustainable development.

Since the release of the Aeron chair replica in 2016, the color scheme has been mainly neutral colors carefully selected—Onyx (Onyx Black), Graphite (Graphite Grey), Carbon (Carbon Grey), and Mineral (Mineral White)—to harmonize with various environments. The newly released colors, Jasper (Jasper Green) and Nightfall (Nightfall Blue), continue the existing color palette while also drawing inspiration from natural elements. Jasper is a deep olive green that is close to neutral tones, echoing the current trend of "natural design" in office spaces; Nightfall is a deep midnight blue, a color that has been widely used in many of the brand's products, helping to achieve unified and coordinated color selection in space.

The original Aeron chair launched in the market had a short period of time to release a variety of gemstone colors. However, due to the limitations of material technology and structural technology at that time, the color could only be attached to the elastic suspension (Pellicle), resulting in a significant color difference between the neutral color frame and the colored back. This time, with the breakthrough of material technology, the elastic suspension (Pellicle) and the frame are one color, thus simplifying the visual layer, and improving the integration of the product in space.
Joseph White, Design Strategy Director at MillerKnoll, said, "Our research shows that the rational use of color can significantly improve workplace engagement and personal work efficiency. In a coordinated style environment, high saturation colors are enough to affect a person's breathing, blood pressure, and even body temperature. Therefore, whether working from home or in the office, people are rethinking how to optimize the space and improve the experience. The choice of design and color, as well as the matching of furniture, has become a core element for individuals and enterprises to improve the style of space and create a differentiated environment."
