On December 6, 2025, the preparatory conference of the China Architectural Society Hospital Construction and Management Professional Committee was held in Beijing. The theme of the conference was "Discussion on the Plan for the Preparatory Work of the Professional Committee and the Five-Year Plan." Representatives of the society, members of the preparatory working group, candidates for the position of responsible person, representatives of affiliated units, and other experts in the industry gathered together to lay a solid foundation for the formal establishment and standardized operation of the committee. The China Eighth Engineering Bureau of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation and Aixin Wisdom Medical Technology Development (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. supported the conference as collaborative units.
The conference began with a speech by Chen Liang, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Architectural Society. He pointed out that the committee, as a second-level organization directly under the society, should closely focus on the three core functions of academic leadership, industry service, and platform construction, widely gather professional forces in the field of medical architecture in China, and effectively promote the high-quality development of the industry, clarifying the goals and paths for the construction and development of the committee.
Li Jia, Director of the Comprehensive Department of the China Architectural Society, systematically introduced the development history, main functions, academic influence, and industry service achievements of the society. From the aspects of organizational support, resource integration, and brand activities, he fully demonstrated the society's support capabilities for the development of the committee, enhancing the confidence of all parties in jointly constructing the committee.
The conference was hosted by Zhou Guanghua, the deputy secretary-general of the committee and the secretary-general of the Medical Building Infrastructure Construction Department Alliance. He welcomed and thanked the participants on behalf of the preparatory working group and introduced the main agenda of the meeting, including the consideration of relevant materials for the preparation of the committee, the determination of the organizational structure and core members, and the discussion of the five-year development plan.
In the review of preparatory materials, Li Nan, Director of the Environmental Design Institute of China Central Institute of Engineering, and deputy secretary-general of the committee, made a special report on behalf of the preparatory working group. He detailed the organizational structure of the committee, read the list of proposed members, and outlined the framework of the five-year work plan.
The discussion and review session was hosted by Hu Dao涛, the proposed director of the committee and director of the Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Participants engaged in in-depth exchanges around the professionalism, regional coverage, and industry representation of the proposed members, the feasibility, foresight, and key task settings of the five-year work plan, and the specific work directions of the committee in academic research, standard setting, and talent cultivation, among other aspects, and proposed many constructive suggestions.
In his closing remarks, Hu Dao涛 stated that the committee will focus on promoting the high-quality development of the medical architecture industry as its core objective and will focus on four key areas of work: strengthening organizational construction and improving operational mechanisms; focusing on the actual needs of the industry to promote technological innovation and the implementation of standards; promoting cross-industry collaboration and integrating production, education, and research resources; and focusing on the public welfare nature to actively serve members and the overall development of the industry to ensure the effective implementation of the five-year plan.
At the end of the meeting, Zhou Guanghua, on behalf of the preparatory working group, expressed his gratitude to the leaders, guests, and staff, and announced the successful closing of the preparatory conference. After the meeting, all participants took a group photo together to record this important moment of collaboration and progress in the field of medical architecture.
The holding of the preparatory conference marks a new stage of standardized construction for the China Architectural Society Hospital Construction and Management Professional Committee. Concurrently, the academic annual meeting of the Medical Infrastructure Construction Department (Science) Alliance was also successfully held. The linkage of the two conferences achieved resource sharing, provided a platform for policy interpretation, technical exchange, and experience sharing, and created conditions for the in-depth cooperation between the committee and industry alliances in the future. The committee will take this meeting as a starting point, integrate high-quality resources of medical architecture throughout the country, continuously strengthen academic innovation, industry service, and standard construction, and contribute to the improvement of China's medical and health service system and the promotion of high-quality development of the medical architecture industry.
