LSD Interior Design firmly believes that spaces should serve as containers for behavior and catalysts for emotions. The design process at LSD involves a transformation from the 'form' to the 'behavior', subtly influencing the actions and feelings of individuals within the space through various means such as spatial layout, circulation planning, and material selection. For instance, in the Vanke·Zhongxing Aoshai project, the team utilized a golden cross axis layout and meandering circulation design to blur the boundaries of space, guiding people to naturally flow and interact with each other.
Living rooms are composed of different functional "clusters" that cater to various behaviors such as lying, sitting, and reading, reflecting the design's "stitching" and coexistence with real life. LSD deliberately avoids extreme stylization, opting for "gray spaces" and open-plan segregation to create more possibilities for interaction. In the art corridor and family hall, collections of diverse styles and flexible furniture arrangements respond to the users' spiritual world, satisfying the behavioral needs of different moods. The combination of naturalism and eclecticism ensures that materials, light and shadow, and cultural elements all serve the human experience, ultimately achieving the sublimation of space from 'object' to 'state', triggering an instinctive recognition of cultural continuity, and helping people find a sense of belonging and identity in the space.
LSD aspires for design to transcend the single dimension of visual aesthetics and further expand into the interdisciplinary fields of behavioral psychology, cultural studies, and environmental science. The design commonality, through the fusion of multiple disciplines, demonstrates how space can better serve people and subtly influence our quality of life and emotional experience.
